My obsession with photography began when I was about 13 years old. I have always been particularly drawn to black and white images - something about their rawness seemed to convey more feeling, more soul. I never realized during those adolescent points in my life that photography would be something that would keep tugging at me and eventually become something I would want to do for a career. There came a transitional point in my life that transcended the value of photography. That point being the births of each of my three children. Capturing images of their lives is so incredibly important to me - it brings us laughter, happiness and that "mushy" feeling we all get when we see just how quickly time passes. The images I capture are forever - forever our memories together. I feel exhilarated when I am taking photographs knowing their will be a glimmer of time forever saved. I gain as much joy in capturing memories for others as I do for myself. Recognizing this, has encouraged me to take the leap in becoming the person I feel I was meant to be. My style of photography is casual, journalistic and un-posed. I prefer to work in an outdoor setting using the incredible capabilities of natural light. This avenue provides children in particular with the space to move and feel free, in turn I am able to capture their uniqueness. I know many of us will agree the best photographs are the ones in which we are most relaxed and unaware. These are the moments I try to capture and preserve - you as you really are. A formal academic background and over 10 years hands on experience in the field of Elementary Education endows me with the ability to listen and understand the needs of my clients - especially the little ones! With that experience comes patience, compassion and warmth to those I work with. I feel it is an honor and a privilege to capture memories for all of my clients. I am always grateful for the opportunity to be a part in preserving those moments of joy for each family. I look forward to working with each of you and forming more that just a business relationship, but a sincere trust that I want the very best for each family. |
